Covelong Beach, Chennai

It was 3 AM in the morning when I decided to take a short road trip to Covelong/Kovalam, a fishing village right next to the Taj Vivanta Fisherman’s Cove, a lovely resort in itself. As someone who loves beaches, I reached Kovalam beach at 5:30 AM, just few minutes before the sunrise and when the fishermen were readying their boats for the daily catch. The beach’s shore is rocky in parts with fishing boats lining a good stretch of beach and of-course the village.

It is also a place for surf boarding enthusiasts and wind surfing! (there are regular classes apparently). The beach also has some old broken down amusement rides, which add character to the place (pictures of the rides in the next post!) Click on images below to expand –

Rajasthan – Sunsets

Watching a sunset in Rajasthan’s many picturesque locations is something every traveler has to do. There is something extremely beautiful about these sunsets that I have never experienced anywhere else in my limited travels. Perhaps, it is the setting – large rustic forts, calm lakes, palaces, arid deserts or even the architecture of the cities in itself. The sunset just enhances the overall experience. Rajasthan – Tigers of Ranthambore!

I just came back from a 8 day long vacation in Rajasthan. And what a vacation it was!! Our group traveled over 5000 KM across Jaipur, Ranthambore, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur. Doesn’t matter if your Indian or not – one just cannot leave Rajasthan without a sense of awe. I have thus decided to share some of the best pictures from the trip as part of a series of posts on Rajasthan. First of which is from the Ranthambore National Park. We were super lucky to spot a tiger in our very first safari ! I was even luckier to have a 75mm-300mm lens handy to take decent pictures from the canter.

Folks, I present to you – Krishna (T-19) Isn’t he a beauty? (Click to enlarge in full-screen)

Be Water, My Friend !

At the dawn of this new year, I can only think of what the Master said:

“Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”
